Learning to sail at Swanpool is a joy because the geography of the area creates a sheltered and really rather gorgeous natural arena for the sport.

We use two different boats, Bahias and Picos, which gives us loads of flexibility and you the best possible learning experience.

Bahias are perfect for taking your first steps in sailing as they are a very stable craft designed for up to five people, including the instructor. This makes them great for learning the ropes quickly and safely while building maximum confidence as there is always an expert to talk you through the action.

When you know what’s what, you can move on to a Pico, a one- to two-handed dinghy that moves quickly and is loads of fun, being virtually indestructible and easy to right.

Needless to say, we always have power-craft on the water so there’s always a rescue boat on hand should you need it.
